The Biden administration on Thursday opened the door to seizing the patents of certain costly medications from drugmakers in a new push to slash high drug prices and promote more pharmaceutical competition.
The administration unveiled a framework outlining the factors federal agencies should consider in deciding whether to use a controversial policy, known as march-in rights, to take patents for drugs developed with taxpayer funds and share them with other pharmaceutical companies if the public cannot “reasonably” access the medications. Doing so could lead to the development of lower-priced generic alternatives, which could cut into key drug companies’ profits and reduce costs for patients.

Way to kill research and development. Dumb @$$.
They don’t have the power.
Sounds like what Chavez did in Venezuela. Soon we will be eating the zoo animals like folks in Venezuela. Save a leg for me Clark.
Dictator Biden is at it again.
If we’re lucky we’ll get a slice of moldy bread.
Who’s the effing dictator?
I SERIOUSLY doubt anything this administration does will benefit Americans in general.
No doubt a real life version of 10-289 is standby somewhere just for this occasion.
P
And these bastards have the nerve to call Trump a dictator.
I don't doubt it. Amazing how quickly the misnamed Patriot Act showed up after 9-11. Almost like it was already written waiting for a crisis.
This violates the Constitution in so many ways.
I am sure the GOP will get right on it….
Could Atlas Shrug in my life time?
Could Trump be John Galt?

If the drugs were developed using Federal funds, then this may be appropriate.
I have many patents, but I have no intellectual property rights, because they were all developed on company time.
This is all for nothing, the real problem is US law regarding Big Pharma. No other country allows them to charge outrageous prices.
Example
I am now on blood thinners, for a 2 month prescription at CVS in Mexifornia for Eliquis it was $1441.
I just got my next prescription for 2 months filled by a Pharmacy in Canada for $122.
Yes they do. The FEDGOV can do anything under the general welfare clause and mostly get away with it. I don’t agree but they will or may try. This is the bully option first.
Yeah you won’t get many new drugs if the patents for the stuff that works gets seized. Anyone above moron knows this.
Taking away intellectual property for the greater good sounds very communisty to me.
Or Fascist. In this case I am going to go with FASCISM, but Democratic-Socialists and Socialist-Democrats have many of the same problems.
