Mine put out measurable current even at night (city lights refected back from atmosphere mainly). And if there’s a full moon, probably enough to charge that cell phone.

I have 125 watts of 12 VDC output potential from my panels. They sit in the living room now to avoid deterioration sitting outside. The only reason to have them is recharging cellphones and my wife's insulin pump. I have some small batteries to run my ham radio gear for emergency services comms. As long as there is gasoline, propane or natural gas, I have two generators that can create 120 VAC sufficient to power a refrigerator/freezer and a washing machine as necessary. In a "grid down", I won't be working for my employer as that requires my computers and a working internet. That leaves time to attend to survival activities.
