This is complete BS. I know MANY boomers who are raisinfg their grandkids.
All these millenials know what to do is whine and blame others.
“This is complete BS.”
I throughly agree.
This boomer couple raised some great kids, now (hard-working) parents. And, we always help where we can, and we know that our "kids" will help their "kids" when they have kids.
It takes the precise opposite of a village, it takes a family, complete with family values.
Boy is that true. Offering advice to my 35 year old daughter has made me feel a very little bit like those tankers in Shermans watching their 75 AT bounce off Tigers and Panthers.
we're not close physically to our grandchildren plus there's that your weekend/my weekend thing and when I was working I often worked weekends and holidays but no matter, we always tried to have our impacet somehow....
I believe in legacies...my parents did...and they were not rich by any means, pretty low actually but gee, they were able to help us out here and there and never refused giving help....
now my husbands parents....made it clear that they would not "give up their weekends" for the grandchildren, and they also pretty much said they had other plans when we christened my dtr, although they eventually came.....they won't waste a dollar on anybody that they can't spend on themselves...
