Los Angeles Police officers were called to reports of a burglary at an address in the Granada Hills neighborhood on Saturday morning Four suspects had entered a home and had allegedly threatened the homeowner with a gun But the homeowner then shot one of the suspects, who died at the scene
The other three suspects fled the scene and have not yet been identified, but police said a 'trail of blood' suggested one of them had been injured.
'It is believed that an additional suspect was injured during the incident due to a trail of blood located during the investigation,' authorities said.
There was also a grandmother and a toddler in the house at the time.
Video from the scene shows the unnamed male homeowner being detained by police during the initial investigation, but it is not known if he has been charged.
Neighbors were alarmed by the incident but told KTLA that they aren't surprised.
Pat Walsh said: 'We’ve been having burglaries every day in this neighborhood.
'So I’m not surprised at all. It’s been a real problem. Residents here are fed up.'
A homeowner shot and killed a home invasion suspect in Los Angeles early Saturday morning while a grandmother and toddler were in the house.
Officers were called to a home in Swinton Avenue in the Granada Hills around 5am on Saturday after someone reported a 'hot prowl' - a burglary where the homeowner is present.
'The officers’ preliminary investigation determined that approximately three to four armed males in their 20s entered the home with the intent to burglarize the location,' according to LAPD officials.
'A suspect pointed a weapon at the victim and while the suspects were inside the residence, the victim produced a firearm and a shooting occurred.'

The gun toting home owner..... "The man was taken in for questioning but it is not clear if he has been charged"
He appears white, he’ll probably be charged.
Looks like 2 ppl were being detained. A woman is following behind with something in her arms. WTF??!!?
Uh, mail......no “Shocking”?
No home-owner needs a magazine that holds more than a couple of rounds of ammo. That is unfair to the home invaders! As a matter of fact, a single shot firearm should be sufficient for any homeowner’s needs.
Cooperating in your own death and the death of your family during a robbery in your own home is your duty as a compliant citizen. This guys social credit score is going to take decades to recover, if at all.
South Africa. Thats what we’re becoming.
Should have gone for broke and killed them all.
WHY is he handcuffed?
Is this really what California has devolved to!

It is the Daily Mail. There are always lots of photos even they have no bearing on the story.
Because most cops are power-hungry control freaks, and they like to push people around. They get off on it.
Shocking that there’s no Shocking Moment!
It’s a steady job
they do that cuz they dont really know what the hell happened
Los Angeles District Attorney George Gascon is more likely to prosecute the homeowner than the home invaders.
Not all of cops are power freaks it’s just 90% that give the other 10% a bad name
I did say “most” ...
;’}
4 armed home invaders.
The answer to the question:
“why would anyone need a firearm with capacity of more than 10 rounds?”
Too bad he didn’t kill all four perps but killing one ain’t bad
