FSU has a 19 game win streak going back to 2022. I’d like to see them win the bowl game to continue the streak. OTOH, without being in the playoffs, bowl games don’t mean much anymore and a lot of NFL bound players from both teams won’t play.
Between conference realignment, NIL, the transfer portal and the ridiculous coaches salaries, I’m finding it hard to get too excited about college football anymore (and I gave up on pro football a long time ago).
Yeah, I don’t really watch a lot of games anymore, just highlights. I still like talking about it, but it’s just not the same.
If an undefeated Power 5 team is not going to be competing against other Power 5 undefeated teams for a National Championship, WHAT IS THE POINT OF A PLAYOFF?!
This is embarrassing, and everyone in the NCAA associated with this whole fiasco should be ashamed and embarrassed.

I moved through the comments quickly to find one that shows how ridiculous the sport has become. I would add:
It’s the hype. And without the hype there is not near as much money in it.
Look at Iowa. The highest paid state employee is the hawkeyes head football coach. AFAIK, he hasn’t won national title, and hasn’t won the big 10 in almost 20 years. Yet the hawkeyes get hyped to the hilt, as though they have a rich history of championships.
And maybe they do, but not in football.
