Lacking that, my first thought was that a gas line had been opened and may have been flaring off repeatedly from a nearby pilot light, until blowing it out, then building up enough gas to get to the next nearest pilot light, and blow the house apart.

Maybe someone is trying to suicide this guy...
Or this guy is trying to suicide whomever he thinks is coming for him...
Or he is the first of many more “bad government” objectors to have their homes exploded.
