If you can find a copy (out of print, but possibly available as a pdf download) “A Failure of Civility” is a fantastic book for neighborhood cooperative survival. We are doing a lot of that already. Of course, it is a lot easier for a small island community. We don't really have to be "Preppers" or get organized for some future bad event. Just the reality of island life in Southeast Alaska demands a certain amount of organizing and cooperating for survival.
