Hmmmm....

China controls, some say, about 80% of the minerals/mines needed for the toy cars.

China, because Musk has to give them access to his technology, in exchange for building his cars in China, is about to jump into the EV market. So, I'd imagine they're giving themselves first dibs on the rocks.

Argentina supposedly has a massive amount of lithium. Argentina's economy is a disaster. What a perfect way for the country to lift itself out of economic despair than for it to start selling lithium at ridiculous prices.

But, Milei, the man of the people might have some issues:

All of that while the appetite for the toy cars is waning and sales are down. And Biden's policies being described as economic disaster.....Oh Well

Not asked.

Stopped in New York to meet with Clinton before going to the White House to meet with the Biden Administration about mining lithium.

Sounds like another run of the mill South American money grabbing “El Presidente`”

China has already locked up rights to much of Argentina’s lithium. Biden should have been on this right from the start, instead of screwing over domestic energy producers.

If I were Milei, I would have said 'I'm not talking to you about this. I want a face to face meeting with Biden'.

Since Biden wouldn't speak to him he should have walked out.

The Biden administration is treating him like trash and unfortunately he didn't protest.

Interesting that Afghanistan had lithium, IIRC.

Home to more than 65 percent of the world’s known reserves, could Latin America’s “Lithium Triangle” formed by Argentina, Bolivia and Chile become the Saudi Arabia of the 21st century?
