Javier Milei, the libertarian president-elect of Argentina, discusses his philosophy of government in an interview with TV host Alejandro Fantino.
English translation via TremendaCarucha on X/Twitter:
JAVIER MILEI: We aren't above the ones we represent. In financial terms, "The derivative is never worth more than the underlying asset." The derivative exists because the underlying asset exists. We exist as representatives of the people because the people exist. It is madness, it is delusional, to think that a representative of the people is above the people he represents themselves. It is a delusion in which the political caste exists.
In our government, the politicians will have the same privileges that the common citizen has. They will have to internalize their externalities. They will have to internalize their externalities. If they screw up, not only will honest Argentines suffer the consequences, the politicians are going to suffer even more. They will have to live like the honest Argentines live.
Their privileges are over! The party is over!
This is something only an outsider can achieve. Only a guy who comes from outside can do it. And not just any kind of outsider because history is full of outsiders who get into pre-existing structures. We are outsiders because we are outsiders without a pre-existing structure.
We built it for this. What for? To kick their ass out!
The party is over! Privileges for politicians are over! It’s over!
A different Argentina is impossible with the same old people.
Enough with this! The Party is over!
That’s why they want to smear me. That’s why they send my way the 200 loser economists. That’s why they send my way the pseudo-intellectuals. That’s why they send my way the slum priests. That’s why they attack me through the media....

An interesting speech. I recommend watching at the link to X/Twitter,
I sure hope he governs with WISDOM!
Bttt
Having visited Argentina many times I am hopeful that Milei will be able to turn the country from its wicked ways.
100 years ago Argentina was one of the greatest countries in the world. Argentina has the natural resources to resurrect itself to regain its former glory.
So far it appears this is an American Style Revolution with a clear goal, unlike the French Revolution which was for what they didn’t want. Managing for what you don’t want only leads you to another “don’t want.”
It appears he is pushing down decision making to local and encouraging local leaders. There is risk in that but with the right leadership can be done. It has been done before but is rare.
Folks, look at the big picture here, don’t get distracted by one or two shiny things. He will not be perfecdt, neither are we.
The same is True of Trump.
If I shake you awake in the middle of the night and ask what your are fighting FOR, after you reach for your gun, what do you tell me?
Repeat the above LOUD and OFTEN to people you encounter.
This guy is truly remarkable. I hope he overhauls the place and is radically successful.
Sounds Trump bold. We shall see how things pan out.
“I Didn’t Come Here To Guide Lambs, But To Awaken Lions”
Looking for source did find the following:
https://news.cgtn.com/news/7841544f33677a6333566d54/index.html
Data shows that since 1978, there have been over 1,800 lion dance troupes in the 17 counties and towns of Nanhai District, Foshan City. The Cantonese lion dance has the awe-inspiring appearance of a real lion. With rousing drumbeats, it is known as the “Awaken Lion” or “Southern Lion.”
Klaus and his WEF boys are NOT pleased.....

Milei’s most repeated catchphrase during this summer’s campaign, unprecedentedly harsh against Kirchnerism and cultural Marxism, is a bombshell that resounds throughout the country: “I did not come to lead lambs, I came to awaken lions”.
MAGA
If I shake you awake in the middle of the night and ask what you are fighting FOR, after you reach for your gun, what do you tell me?
Faith, family and babies.
Ask around, it is a revealing question.
That statement sounds like something Chris Kyle would say.
BTTT
I am liking this guy.
Let's hope he follows through on his promises.
I also have friends in Argentina and have visited many times. A potentially great country crippled by the people that they have repeatedly elected. I hope he’s finally the strong medicine that the country needs.
I like the quote in the headline. What America should be aspiring to recapture.
