Former first lady Michelle Obama spoke out about the Supreme Court’s Thursday ruling against affirmative action, recalling her own struggle to feel a sense of belonging as one of the few Black students at her university.
“So often, we just accept that money, power, and privilege are perfectly justifiable forms of affirmative action, while kids growing up like I did are expected to compete when the ground is anything but level,” Michelle Obama wrote in her statement. “So today, my heart breaks for any young person out there who’s wondering what their future holds — and what kinds of chances will be open to them.”
The former first lady recalled her experience as one of the few Black students on campus during her undergraduate years at Princeton University, explaining that she sometimes questioned if people assumed she had only been accepted because of affirmative action policies. But over time, she said, she and other students of color showed that they, too, belonged in elite academic environments.

I consider her a legacy admit with a healthy dose of affirmative action. Her brother, Craig Robinson class of 1983, was a basketball recruit.

You would think she hasn’t looked around to see how the rest of us live - not in mansions certainly on Martha’s Vineyard...Poor, poor thing!
Has she ever written or spoken about the good things that have happened to her...like living in the WH for 8 years? For years I had a picture in my mind of them living there and saying to one another every day, “can you believe how we snookered these idiots?”
I’m thinking she’s just a chronic complainer...it gets her noticed!!

Her “thesis” used to be available online and it read like it was written by a seventh grader. You bet she got a lot of AA benefit by being an AA.
I’ve glanced at one of her books.
It seems nicely written by a nice person.
However, I think she suffers from depression which can make her go negative.
I think it allowed him to participate in Women’s sports....
I doubt “money, power, and privilege” would help me learn Russian.
In modern America, “money, power, and privilege” will get you a court date - ask DJT about that.

Let’s see , she got a free ride to the best university and law school and then for some reason got her law license pulled or had to give it up. What is she complaining about?
