The fact that she was arrested is troubling. The fact that she thinks oil is murdering millions of people is also troubling. She is wrong and the government is wrong.
Its funny that these same people who have such a problem with oil, are the same people who had a problem with Thatcher for closing down coal mines that actually did kill the workers, and was far dirtier than the oil. They don’t seem to care. They are just given a cause, and they run with it. They don’t think.
But they do have a right to speak. And the government should not arrest her for speaking out, no matter how stupidly.
They aren’t just speaking, nor are they getting arrested for merely speaking. This group blocks roads and bridges, even blocking emergency vehicles.

I remember an era in the United States when you were young and acted and spoke stupidly you were told that you were being stupid. I miss those days.
Essentially, they hold other people hostage by blocking them from passing through.
Was she trespassing?
The fact that you simplified this case is troubling too. They were not marching peacefully expressing their first amendment rights. They were blocking traffic. Impeding the free movement of hundreds of people.
Every one of these people should be personally sued for damages. I was blocked by these idiots coming home from Boston once. I missed my plane and had to spend $200 to reschedule my flight. So I had to spend overnight in an expensive airport hotel because I had already turned in my rental car.
The next flight was full because of all the other people who missed it. And so I missed a whole day of work the next day. Also a $50 charge for missing a schedule dental appointment without 24 hours notice.
The total cost was about $1,500 bucks.
it isn’t the speaking out that’s the problem, it’s the believing that SHE has some God-given right to disrupt the lives of other people who couldn’t care less what she says or thinks. will it take one of YOUR relatives dying in an ambulance that can’t get past these morons for you to see the light?

She was arrested because she was on probation that forbid her protesting and she protested anyway. They didn’t jail her the first time she was arrested.
