“If you have a young son, it’s a bad deal for him to get married in the United States.” The laws on marriage and divorce are so punitive towards the man I can see exactly why men don’t want to be married. It can lead to financial ruin. My uncle’s wife left him for another man and took most of what he had. He had to pay alimony. Insult on top of injury. He died broke.

The issue is not just marriage, but that of the lack of children itself, and esp. within among the married.

In 1970, essentially no one was reported to be cohabitating unmarried with kids; by 2021, that rose to 5%. And, significantly, 18% of American adults were married with no kids in 1970. As of 2021, that's risen to 21%.
Which means that even among cohabitating fornicators, only 21% have children, while only 37% of the married have any children.

Along with that, the age of a women having her first child has risen to 30, the highest on record

Which means that In 1976, four-in-ten mothers ages 40 to 44 had four or more children, which fell to just 14% by 2014. More recently, among women aged 15–49 in 2015–2019, 43.3% had not had a biological child, 16.2% had one child, 21.7% had two children, 12.6% had three children, and 6.2% had four or more children at the time of the interview. (https://www.cdc.gov/nchs/data/nhsr/nhsr179.pdf)

However, since immigration-related: individuals who are immigrants or live with immigrants are less likely to respond to the census, thus numbers could be higher.

And while traditionally, most all central and south Americans have said they oppose abortion and homosexuality, yet most choose Democrats due to money, over morals, being that of short-term gain, bong-term loss, contrary to the faith most profess. https://www.pewresearch.org/religion/2014/11/13/chapter-5-social-attitudes/; https://www.pewresearch.org/hispanic/2012/04/04/v-politics-values-and-religion/; https://www.giga-hamburg.de/en/publications/giga-focus/abortion-rights-in-latin-america-an-unsettled-battle

It's easier to get divorced when you don't have kids.

That 21% was a mistake on my part, as it is 5% of cohabitating unmarried having children, with only 21% of the married having children, yet the 5% cohabitating unmarried with kids seems too low. Pew also says that only 7% of the cohabiting have no kids. https://www.pewresearch.org/social-trends/2023/09/14/the-modern-american-family/

The number one statistical impact to wealth/success is a good marriage. Of course the lefties have been trying to kill it for 50 years.

If you're wealthy, you're more likely to have a successful family. Just go to the Hamptons on a weekend in the sunmer.

No ‘need’ to marry if Uncle Sucker will subsidize all your little bastards.

Hard to have mom stay home to raise the kids.

Too easy for mom to divorce dad, take the kids along with most of his money, and shack up with "Chad".

Because "family law" rewards this sort of behavior.

Oh lookie, no breakdown by region, no breakdown by race, gawrsh gawrsh LOFL ...

I like this next part the best. I'm finally starting to believe Rush is right, something as simple as picking apart a fearporn agitpropaganda poll requires teaching everyone else about what you see, and that requires educating your fellow Constitutional Conservative.

Are you learning anything, Biff?

Overview

The American Trends Panel (ATP), created by Pew Research Center, is a nationally representative panel of randomly selected U.S. adults. Panelists participate via self-administered web surveys. Panelists who do not have internet access at home are provided with a tablet and wireless internet connection. Interviews are conducted in both English and Spanish. The panel is being managed by Ipsos.

Data in this report is drawn from ATP Wave 126, conducted from April 10 to April 16, 2023, and includes an oversample of Hispanic men, non-Hispanic Black men, non-Hispanic Asian adults, and adults who identify as lesbian, gay or bisexual in order to provide more precise estimates of the opinions and experiences of these smaller demographic subgroups.

These oversampled groups are weighted back to reflect their correct proportions in the population. A total of 5,073 panelists responded out of 5,802 who were sampled, for a response rate of 87%.

The cumulative response rate accounting for nonresponse to the recruitment surveys and attrition is 3%. The break-off rate among panelists who logged on to the survey and completed at least one item is 1%. The margin of sampling error for the full sample of 5,073 respondents is plus or minus 1.7 percentage points."

An MoE crafted out of ridiculous special sauce; push-polled 'web surveys' without providing you even so much as the raw data; populations specifically oversampled to produce the desired results in the classic Pew tradition.

"You do know these people are all in their 70s now and largely produced nuclear families of their own.

And then supported policies that destroyed the ability for their grandchildren to ever enjoy the American Dream."

Do you actually ever question your insatiable desire for stinkbait, droop?

Which is why Islam does not tolerate this kind of behavior.

This is NOT the solution: Biden's HHS wants to nuke the definition of nuclear family from its regulations Changing to gender-neutral language, terms WND News Services By WND News Services

(THE FEDERALIST) – A new rule proposed by President Joe Biden’s Department of Health and Human Services seeks to quietly redefine family by ridding child support regulations of important biological terms such as “mother,” “father,” and “paternity.”

Americans have until Nov. 27 to weigh in on a rule from the Office of Child Support Services (OCSS) that would replace words describing female and male parents with the “gender-neutral” word “parentage” in federal child support regulations. The OCSS also suggests ridding its edicts of sex-specific pronouns such as “his” or “her” and replacing them with "their."

This is a bit over-simplified and a bit conspiratorial.

It was the move away from the family farm and productivity gains in that arena that allowed the next generation to pursue a career in business and industry.

I'm the oldest of 9 and enlisted at 17 during Nam, just to get away from "home life".

And when discharged I made sure I had work/career options that didn't include going home.
