Not saying its impossible, but I do not think you will get much cooperation from Isreal and Egypt in building a canal on their border and running it on the south side of Gaza.

You are probably right Pete. But, if you were going to dig Suez II wouldn't you do everything that the IDF are doing now get rid of all the people in the area and bomb the crap out of the region. Also,did anyone think that at least some of the people they are forcing out of the region are.....hamas terrorists!! Unless they are checking each and everyone of the near million people on the move which seems unlikely. Lots of things that don't add up here.

Don't get me wrong they need to get rid of hamas they are the worst terror types on the face of the earth no doubt. But, it is suspicious how the whole thing rolled out with the 7 hour delay after numerous Israeli spotters had seen the build up of hamas only 300 yards from the border and it was totally ignored. Was it to make sure that lots of people were killed/captured as hostages in Israel before they sent the troops in? That's a really harsh thing to do if so. Lots of coincidences there.....
