Eagle-eyed NFL fans believe they already know who will take to the field at Super Bowl LVIII in Las Vegas in February.
We are still 95 days out from the highly-anticipated climax of the NFL season but that still hasn't stopped fans from sharing a wild conspiracy theory online.
Some have predicted that the two teams who battle for the Vince Lombardi Trophy are pre-selected by the NFL and their team's colors combine to make up that year's Super Bowl logo.
Explaining this theory, popular X account NFL Memes initially pointed out that the logo for Super Bowl LVI was made up of orange and yellow.
Backing up that theory was the fact that the Los Angeles Rams - who play in blue and yellow - beat the Cincinnati Bengals - who wear black and orange - on home turf.
Providing more ammunition to the theory was the logo for this year's game - Super Bowl LVII - in Arizona.
There is more evidence to support the claim here, too. At the top of that logo was some green - which it's claimed represents the Philadelphia Eagles.
Then, deep at the bottom, is some strips of red - which NFL fans believe corresponds to the Kansas City Chiefs.

Eagles and Chiefs were chosen last year because Mrs. Kelce needed to be on TV.

I really believe that the NFL wanted Jerome Bettis and his Steelers to win the Duperbowl that year that it was in his home town of Detroit, and that had that horrible replay review F***up at the end of the game. That was their narrative. All fawning all over Bettis all game long, because he was retiring. heh
Either Tight-End, or Wide out.
The Rams wore white jerseys for the Super Bowl NOT blue and yellow.
T-Shirt Logo: Detroit Lions - Rebuilding since 1957
Last year’s logo was Teal & Purle/Red — Definitely NOT the Eagles Dark Hunter (or sometimes Kelly) Green. More like the Dolphins than anything else.
This year’s is Red & Purple — I do think the Chiefs will be in there, if (big IF) there is pre-planned placement (TPTB def. LOVE that Taylor Swift is bringing in younger female viewers) but both the Red & the Purple could point to several teams.
Seems like a bunch of hogwash...
I know, maybe this year Travis Kelce could propose to Taylor Swift during the halftime show. That way BILLIONS of SWIFTY’S will tune in to watch.
i see ravens purple and black...
go RAVENS!
I remain convinced that Vegas has ultimate control of the rulings on the field.
It would be nice if we could get the corruption out of everything in our lives, but it’s the evil side of human nature, so it will always be there until the end of time.
Yes! And the Super Bowl will be saved by all the eyeballs!
It will be the Panthers and the Patriots.
What’s an NFL?
Couldn’t the LV mean Las Vegas Raiders? :D
Obviously not.
Will this somehow include Taylor Swift?....
Vegas doesn’t care. The whole point of odds and spreads and such is to make sure the house always wins. The action spreads around on both sides of all the bets enough to keep them in the money.
Maybe Vegas doesn’t care, but someone high up enough wants to be remunerated by the outcome. Every year we see multiple incidents of ridiculously bad calls. The bigger the game, the more egregious the calls. It’s always been this way, but it has gotten worse since betting has been so publicized. It’s in our faces with every sport these days. It ruins the sportsmanship aspect for me.
Every game in every sport has bad calls. The NFL has the problem of rarity. An insanely bad call in a baseball game Monday is gone from sports talk because even if it’s in the playoffs there’s probably more games tomorrow, maybe 2 days. NHL and NBA run similarly. There’s always new content to push the story of that crap call out of the headlines. Football has those guaranteed 2 day gaps every week, and in the playoffs a whole week.
The calls really haven’t gotten any worse. But the quantity of media to beat that story to death has increased dramatically. There’s multiple full time sports TV networks, and even more radio networks, and dozens of websites and “channels” on websites. You can now easily consume 100 hours of complaining about 1 bad call, especially in the NFL when all these outlets still have to fill their hours even with no games happening. If you tune out the noise and just don’t let yourself consume that much sports talk you’ll see everything goes back to how it was decades past.
I don’t pay much attention to sports talk. I just watch games, and make my own decisions. For me, if feels like a lot of the fun of it has gone by the wayside. I just feel that everything is so corrupt. Maybe it always has been this way, and I’m older now and can see it.
