POLK COUNTY, Fla. - An elementary school teacher was arrested for a DUI after deputies nabbed her with a blood alcohol level nearly three times the legal limit, according to the Polk County Sheriff's Office.
Leslie Spence of Tampa was arrested and charged with driving under the influence after she was pulled over on Friday night in Lake Wales. She was also given a citation for failing to maintain a single lane.
A witness reported a vehicle driving east on State Road 60 at about 25 mph, swerving across lanes, according to deputies.
A Polk County Sheriff's Deputy was able to catch up to Spence in a Ford SUV and initiated a traffic stop just before 11 p.m. The 52-year-old woman had slurred speech with a strong order of an alcoholic beverage, deputies said. Her eyes were also bloodshot and watery.
After a field sobriety test, Spence was arrested for DUI, according to the Polk County Sheriff's Office.
"My father is a lawyer and he will sue every single one of you," Spence told a deputy at one point during her arrest.

The article has the school name .
…
“a strong order of an alcoholic beverage”
What did she order?
Did the cops get it for her?
One of my teachers kept a bottle in his desk.
She has a clear and compelling defense. “I am an elementary school teacher. Just how do you expect any of us to face a roomful of little brats every day without drinking?”
I think the writer also put in an order that caused an odor before she wrote this.
As a teen I had a maintenance job with the police HQ in our town. Records were all paper, and there was little document security, so I could read arrest records and police reports while cleaning the joint.
Far more men were arrested for DWI, but they were almost always close to the legal limit.
Fewer women were arrested (maybe 10% of all DWIs), but when they were, their blood alcohol levels were always over 2X and 3X the legal limit
Heh. Well, I guess I’m a liberal insofar as I have a certain amount of sympathy for her. But let the law take its course.
"My father is a lawyer and he will sue every single one of you," Spence told a deputy at one point during her arrest.
Can you blame her? I'd be livir too if the reporter couldn't bother to get the order right.
Were shots fired? That happens at Micky D's on a regular basis!
Alcoholism sucks.
Hope she has the will and the strength to get sober.
A much better life awaits her.
BTW her profession is irrelavent.
Alcoholism doesn’t care what you do for a living.
Sheriff's hilarious reply as teacher threatens to sue cops after failing DUI
Being victimized by a drunk sucks more.
She’s lucky she didn’t kill someone.
No question.
So, you’re saying “guilty”? 😀
“My father is a lawyer and he will sue every single one of you,” Spence told a deputy
Ah, another “Do you know who I am??” moment.
Her eyes were also bloodshot and watery.
“You have bloodshot eyes. Have you been drinking?”
“Your eyes are glazed, officer. Have you been eating donuts?”
Maybe they should have had wider lanes.
You’re on a roll!
Priceless!
Under the Influence? Of what?
Donuts.
Well then, obviously Dunkin’ disorderly.
“Well then, obviously Dunkin’ disorderly.”
No hole in that argument.
