That’s sweet you are taking your dad out first. Bringing a turkey? I never heard of that. It’s enough work to make one, much less get it ready to go somewhere. Maybe next year when somebody asks what they can bring I’ll say the turkey!
The turkey is in the oven now. I will carve it at the appropriate time. Tomorrow, I will bring the slices over to my friend’s house along with a platter and some decorative greens. All they will have to do is warm and serve.
I do stuff early and then reheat. MUCH easier that way. I use my back porch, if cold enough, as a large refrigerator for storage as needed.
PS. I’m not taking Dad out. He is taking me. He gets very upset if I don’t let him hold doors etc. Yesterday we went to a store which doesn’t have much traffic (they sell very high services and appliances). I parked in the handicapped space. Dad chewed me out since I don’t have a handicapped hanger and told me he would NOT pay the fine. But, it was so very much easier to get in and out. (I did not inconvenience anyone)
