From a Christian perspective, Jesus said, “...there will be wars and rumors of wars”. He did NOT forbid them. Throughout the Old Testament, God instructed the Israelites to go to war against certain groups. (Though not popular to mention, he also set other nations against Israel when they disobeyed him time after time.) I don’t begin to claim I know what God’s will is here, but if the past is any indication, He does not expect Israel to be a door mat. If God is for it, then Israel will be victorious. Or, it may be that this is the beginning of the end, when ALL nations, including us, will turn against Israel and surround her. But I don’t think we are there, yet; that comes at the end of the seven years of tribulation. God only knows if this is just birth pangs, or if He’s getting ready to perform the greatest disappearing act of all time. Time will tell.
Given what Hamas organized on Oct 7, Israel has every right to invade and occupy Gaza, and depose that criminal Regime.
But I don’t think Israel militarily can do it. They want to do something ten times 1999 Grozny, where the Russians used 20K+ troops, “claimed” 1500 dead and 4000 injured.
Multiply by ten.
And if they use anything like the tactics of 1999 Grozny they will be under sanctions etc. from most of the rest of the world - not just moslems.
Then to occupy Gaza in perpetuity, the typical ratio for a hostile population is 20:1 civilians to soldiers. That is 100K (most of the Israeli army) forever.
Israel is very hooked up to the global economy. They have their own oil production and their own refineries, but they depend on imported steel and imported grain. Those are the essentials for any lengthy war.
Any strategy that provokes international sanctions from everyone except the US is going to be an economic and military killer long term.
My view, Israel’s best option is shell Gaza (cheapest HE delivery) and lay a giant minefield say, 2km inside Gaza and maybe another 2-3 km outside the boundary.
Make them tunnel for 3 miles before they can attack jews again. That will keep them busy.

Only solution I see
The world takes enough palis everywhere in small numbers so they can’t be too strong anywhere to gather steam
Keep minimum in Israel and make it all one state solution and Israel maintains steady proportional majority as Jewish homeland
And Jewish women there start having large families
I don’t think two state is viable and there’s the settlers on west bank
If you don’t do something at some point in twenty years there will be 4-5 million of these maniacs festering in Gaza
And no amount of walls and robotic machine guns and control is going to work
And Israel will be scorned for it
The developing world has it in for us in case nobody has figured that out yet

People said the exact same thing about Trump moving the embassy to Jerusalem. There were going to be riots in the streets, it was going to be a foreign policy disaster. Muslims from Indonesia to Morocco would rise up. What happened? Nothing.

Yes, one can talk about Muslims from the streets of Detroit, to Morocco, to former Soviet satellite states and all around the Middle East opposing Israel, but the October 7th barbarian attack by Hamas started a long simmering blood feud that can not be negotiated away as long as Hamas has military weapons, a base from which to conduct terrorist raids, and a goal of wiping Israel off the face of the map. Hamas does not want a two-state solution.....they want a No-Israel solution.
