So when should Gaetz have planned to try to get mccarthy to vacate the seat?

After mccarthy approves and signs of several trillion more in an omnibus bill after several cr’s....

Well, he probably planned to not be the only one that would try to vacate the speakership because w/o 3 or 4 others, he’d look foolish when it failed. So, in his planning stage, he might’ve seen who might be a possible replacement. Before today (& this wasn’t planned), they could’ve gone to 2024 (not a typo) with no speaker. So, what I’m saying is that he & we lucked out.

I think that's what frustrated me the most about McCarthy and McConnell -- that they agreed with Democrats to push the budget fights to after the elections.

They basically took the strongest weapons to use against the Democrats off of the table during election seasons, rather than let the country suffer through the impacts of Democrat policies and then run on a platform of reforms.
