No kidding. I watched about 30 seconds of her reading her "confession" and was reminded of nothing so much as Russian "confessions" before being hauled off to the Gulag...

Note that there is no substance to her testimony. She is saying she relied on other lawyers and failed to do due diligence regarding some facts. The implication is that what those other lawyers fed her was untrue, but nothing she says proves that one way or the other, or whether a crime was committed.
In a fair trial, her “testimony” and her expression of remorse, would be irrelevant and the trial would focus on the facts and the question of whether a crime was committed.
But, and you said, this is not a fair trial - it is a show trial.
