Baseball? All star game is not in GA anytime soon. It’s in Texas in 2024, TBA in 2025, and Philly in 2026

My guess is that with misdemeanors they don’t lose their law licenses. And I’d guess they could get crushed financially fighting the government/deep state. So, take the plea and move on with life.

So, take the plea and move on with life. Yeah and make sure she gets the crocodile tears in there and forget about what she REALLY should be doing - taking care of her husband, children and home.
(Obviously, I hate popular culture and conventional wisdom both of which side with the destruction of the family and society.)
Let the flaming begin... (I don't care)...

It was a joke about the BLM madness driving the ASG out of Georgia. If the leftist kooks can force the ASG out of Georgia...well, two can play that game.
If you want technical accuracy, we’ll have to find something else to take from Georgia. But, it will be hard for Republican eunuchs to do that.

So, 5k and no jail time (and the lawyers fees so far), as opposed to at least 150k in lawyers fees in a kangaroo court.

There’s probably not ONE person here on FR facing similar circumstances, that would not have done the same thing, especially when you have never been in real trouble before.
While some have called Enrique Tarrio deplorable, he held out while the DS tried to break him and make him lie. He's doing 22 year of hard time because he wouldn't sell President Trump down the river.
To: Observator
Perhaps, but he’s a proud boy and probably never been on FR, the proud boys had a gigantic bullseye on them, and I doubt a deal was offered to him to take a plea, plus the case was in Washington DC, meaning he got a 95% Democratic Jury.
The narrative being pushed by Biden and his DOJ is white extremist violent groups seeking to overthrow the government, the Proud Boys, 3%ers and Oath Keepers stood little to no chance of walking free from their cases.

Yeah really.
Note that there is no substance to her testimony. She is saying she relied on other lawyers and failed to do due diligence regarding some facts. The implication is that what those other lawyers fed her was untrue, but nothing she says proves that one way or the other, or whether a crime was committed.
In a fair trial, her “testimony” and her expression of remorse, would be irrelevant and the trial would focus on the facts and the question of whether a crime was committed.
But, and you said, this is not a fair trial - it is a show trial.

That's not true in general. A plea deal almost always ends any opportunity the defendant has to raise any issues or defenses.
It doesn't end the opportunity for a defendant to raise issues or defenses, but it certainly limits them. A plea deal is considered like a contract. If the prosecutor withholds exculpatory evidence, the plea can be revoked. Sydney Powell did this in her representation of Gen. Mike Flynn which caused the government to move to dismiss the charges. The facts alleged by the prosecution must also support the charge. If a defendant pleads guilty to murder, but the prosecutor's facts only justify J-walking, the guilty plea is irrelevant because the charges aren't supported by the facts. Subject matter jurisdiction is also not waivable, since the court exceeds its ability to act. Ineffective assistance of counsel is another collateral attack to a guilty plea. The defendant can't be punished for his attorney not doing his job properly. The criminal justice system does not favor the criminal defendant and many judges don't want to hear such arguments, but that doesn't mean they can't be made, or won on appeal.
