The fact that the restraint was fairly safe should be big news, and this has served to allow the media to take away from the police a very valuable safety tool.
But it’s actually irrelevant for Chauvin’s trial. Yes, Floyd was a horrible criminal. Yes, he was stoked up on a crazy number of drugs. Yes, those drugs necessitated “unpleasant” restraints. And yes, those drugs probably caused his heart failure. But George Floyd went limp, and long after emergency medical folks arrived at the scene, Chauvin prevented them from accessing Floyd to rescue him from his heart attack.
I had never heard that side of the story, can you possibly post a link to the source?
I had heard the ambulance was slow arriving (not chauvins fau6l) and the crowd was getting unruly endangering the lives of the emt's .( also not chauvins fault) but never did I hear chauvin prevented the emts from getting to floyd until it was safe. ( also not hauvins fault)
I dont think I had seen this before either.
Its not big news and shouldnt be.
It doesnt take a medical degree to know that what they were claiming didnt match with the footage and I said so in threads back then.
Every hunter, butcher, and anyone trained in some sort of martial art or other restraint technique knows it too.
If we look at a cross section of a human neck then the critical points, if the larynx is at the 12 oclock position, is roughly halfway between 1 and 2 and again roughly between 10 and 11.
At no time was the knee quite as far forward as 3 nor as far back as 6.
The accusations were obviously fake and entirely false to anyone that understood and wanted to know the truth rather than those always looking to stimulate raw societal nerves.
