I had never heard that side of the story, can you possibly post a link to the source?
I had heard the ambulance was slow arriving (not chauvins fau6l) and the crowd was getting unruly endangering the lives of the emt's .( also not chauvins fault) but never did I hear chauvin prevented the emts from getting to floyd until it was safe. ( also not hauvins fault)
That’s the problem with hyper-partisan news coverage on both sides: the Left made Floyd out to be a saint, randomly killed by police. But the Right failed to report the fact that Floyd was known to be unconscious, and with a stopped heart, and Chauvin kept him on the ground, apart from EMT.
Here’s a story about the testimony of an EMT that she was prevented from helping Floyd: https://www.upi.com/Top_News/US/2021/03/30/derek-chauvin-george-floyd-trial/6941617112432/
THAT EMT did not arrive in an ambulance, but even when the ambulance arrived, they were obstructed for two minutes:
Wikipedia, which does report from the Left:
“By 8:25, Floyd appeared unconscious, and bystanders confronted the officers about his condition. Chauvin pulled out mace to keep bystanders away as Thao moved between them and Chauvin. Bystanders repeatedly yelled that Floyd was “not responsive right now” and urged the officers to check his pulse. Kueng checked Floyd’s wrist but found no pulse; the officers did not attempt to provide Floyd with medical assistance while he was on the ground. According to the criminal complaint against Chauvin, Lane asked Chauvin twice if they should move Floyd onto his side, and Chauvin said no....
“At 8:27, a Hennepin County ambulance arrived... Emergency medical technicians checked Floyd’s pulse.[67]: 7:17 Chauvin kept his knee on Floyd’s neck for almost a minute after the ambulance arrived, despite Floyd being silent and motionless”
IMPORTANT:
This does not mean that the trial was a travesty!
“The witness, Donald Williams, was also in court on Monday and told jurors that, in his perception, Chauvin’s physical position — with his knee on the back of Floyd’s neck for several minutes — was a clear use of deadly force. . . . Judge Peter Cahill ruled before the trial that Williams could use his experience as a mixed martial arts trainer and fighter to explain why he felt Floyd’s life was in danger, even though he’s not a medical expert.”
Rando ignorant nobody gets to assert that the force they used was deadly? What crap lawyer didn’t follow up with “How many people have you seen die this way? None? Your honor, as a judge, if you allow this testimony, YOU are suborning perjury.”
So stuff like this made me think Chauvin was innocent... except for the testimony that the police themselves could and did find out that his heart had stopped.
