I can't even imagine what this is like!
A woman in Atlanta, Georgia, was on vacation when she got a phone call from a neighbor asking if she was having her home demolished while she was away, because it was BEING DEMOLISHED.

The dude tried to tell the neighbor to leave him alone, not to get in his way, and when a family member came over and asked for proof the guy realized he had come to the wrong address entirely.
Dude bulldozed the wrong house! Then he just drove off like nothing happened!
Thank goodness no one was living there at the time.
Old boys just saw a boarded-up house and said, "That must be the one!"
"It's been boarded up about 15 years, and we keep it boarded, covered, grass cut, and the yard is clean," she said. "The taxes are paid and everything is up on it."
Hodgson said she's filed a report with police and has talked with lawyers but that they remain in limbo so far.
"We're still in this process of figuring out what to do," she said. "We keep pressing in different directions to see if something is going to happen."
She can't even get a call back from the company that tore her house down!
If I am this flabbergasted and frustrated, I can't even imagine how the homeowner feels!
I think it is fitting to bulldoze this operators home, and that of his supervisor.
Stupid needs to stop.
I bet the company employing the crew that did the buldozing is a fianancial dud and will not be able to pay any claim the homeowner succeeds in making against them.
I think there should be a local law that permits the buldozing of a house only with (a) the owner or an owner’s representative present and (b) a permit issued by the town, and (c) that permit not given except to the owner or the owner’s representative and (f) that permit only given with the local ultility companies having verified and marked on the property where lie water, sewer, electric and gas lines as well as any below ground fuel oil storage tank.

I am stunned and flabbergasted. If I am this FLABBERGASTED I can’t EVEN imagine how she must FEEL!
Half of all of the people in the world are below average intelligence Average is pretty stupid.
We had a similar but opposite incident here a few years back.
A man owned a unimproved lot and a company cleared the lot and built a house on it. It was supposed to have been built on the lot next door to it.
After the home was finished, the actual owner of the lot tried to take possession of the new home.
Of course it wound up in court.
IIRC, the judge ruled that the owner of the lot did discover the mistake early enough to have stopped the building of the new home, but declined to do so, thinking he could get the new home essentially for free.
The judge ruled in the builder’s favor and made them trade the lots.................
Note to self: If I keep a house boarded up for fifteen years, put a “Do Not Bulldoze” sign in front of it.
Heavy equipment such as bulldozers, tractors, trailers etc, are assets that can be seized and sold at auction for reparations................
It will all be mortgaged or rented.
Civil forfeiture laws could be used to get around those................
A nasty lawyer friend of my father did this to someone he didn’t like, while they were gone he had their simple frame home demolished and carted away, leaving a brown spot in the middle of a grass yard.
Not really much of a loss.
The company wouldn’t need to worry about “returning my calls” because I’d be IN THEIR OFFICE!!!
90% + are very dumb. Obviously we at FR not included.
This is why there should be indentured servitude.
Can’t pay for what you messed up? Welcome to 3 hots and a cot and 12 hour days at minimum wage until you make good.
I hope they sued him into oblivion..................
