The problem is we now have two MICs at war with each other - those that are kinda low-tech and don't involve a lot of skill, but involve a lot of graft and profit - logiistics and support services to "fight" the counter-insurgency stuff and low level conflicts like we though Ukraine was going to be, and then the high end high risk hard to make work right stuff like 5th generation fighters, hypersonic rockets and counter rockets and all that stuff. The former is the stuff that made Halliburton and its subsidiary KBR one of the largest of our defense contractors. The latter needs LM, Grumman, and Raytheon.

One side wants the Hamas and counter-terrorism fight and the other wants to prepare for China.

Just another of those little messes that became big messes because Bush Cheney thought they could fix the mdidle East.
