My favorite version of "Singin' in the Rain" is by Earl Burtnett & His Los Angeles Biltmore Hotel Orchestra, from 1929. Other acts also waxed the tune that year, and it inspired an answer--Singin' in the Bathtub, from the late fall of 1929.
