Rep. Jim Jordan met the 20 hold outs tonight and they told him bluntly they won't support him for Speaker
This is crazy. They'll never give us this victory.
Jordan wanted to know what they wanted and what the issue is.
Their opposition doesn't seem to be based on anything.
They're just being complete a**holes for the sake of it?!
Kind of like "Never Trumpers".
Anyway, another (third) Speaker vote is scheduled for tomorrow.
Jordan is not quitting which is good. McCarthy had 15 rounds of voting remember.
The plan to empower the Bush crony as Speaker also did not go down well.
I say keep things in limbo.
The precious Ukraine funding in particular will not happen without a Speaker and the clock is ticking on government funding (CR).
Thoughts on this?
Those 20 holdouts are, supporting and siding with the Democrats. Isn’t that what they claimed of the eight that ousted McCarthy, this isn’t any different. Actually worse. And like Gaetz, they have not plan for who’s next.

Jordan has the Israel-Ukraine urgency funding issue to hang over the holdouts heads. Let them go home tomorrow night and hear from their constituents Saturday and the talking heads Sunday. You’re right. Only Jordan has already said he wanted to be a unifier and there is no such thing for the liberals. So if he’s not going balls to the walls for the republicans, then I don’t think he’s the answer to the problem...he’s part of the problem. None the less, almost two weeks ago Trump endorsed Jordan. I think it’s a mistake. The democrats are not going to make deals on anything and will take anything they can. The republicans don’t need Jordan there to meet them one quarter of the way across the aisle when the republicans have to surrender points to them. That’s not leadership, that’s bowing down to try to save face. And currently the face of the house is republican, supposedly.

He’s been there for a bit. In Jordan’s interview with Greta he didn’t oppose aid to Ukraine, in fact he supports stopping Pooty. Jordan however wants a sort of specific “mission statement” from Biden, and, better accounting to minimize losses to theft, corruption, etc. (Odd as it might sound, most Ukrainians, esp. the soldiers, would support that.)
