“Carnival of idiots!”
This is not the name of a new jam band music festival, nor is it the title of a podcast that focuses on the deterioration of state fairs across the country. It’s how Fox & Friends co-host Brian Kilmeade chose to describe House Republicans currently embroiled in an embarrassing bit of legislative chaos trying to elect a new Speaker of the House.
It’s been two weeks since Rep. Kevin McCarthy was voted out of the speakership by roughly a dozen rogue members of the GOP congressional caucus led by Matt Gaetz, aligned with Democrats who were not eager to throw their political rival a lifeline. Since then, things have been a shit show, with Jim Jordan leading the pack to become the next House Speaker, despite his refusal to admit President Joe Biden won the 2020 election and his reported key role in the events of January 6th.
Following a news report, Steve Doocy revealed that it appears that there are currently 10 hold outs and that Jordan will NOT get the votes needed in a vote planned for Tuesday, to which both Lawrence Jones and Ainsley Earhardt agreed was “ridiculous.”
Earhardt then called on Fox & Friends viewers to vote out of office the members of Congress currently opposing Jordan’s bid. “Don’t forget this if you live in an area where your congresswoman or congressman if they’re the ones that are holding out,” she said. “Don’t forget this when it comes time to vote. Republicans need to unite and stick together. The Democrats do it beautifully, and Republicans, for some reason, can’t seem to.”
After Doocy reported on backroom deals over funding of Ukraine and Israel to help get Jordan elected, Kilmeade exasperated, “what, a carnival of idiots. It’s unbelievable.”
“The land of misfit toys,” Earhardt concurred.
Exactly my point.
If Democrats cared about the USA, they would vote to keep McCarthy.
Now, they are enjoying the pickle Gaetz got us into!
I really think next speaker name will be Hakeem!
It’s not THAT bad. But I do think that Gaetz really stepped into this one.
Perhaps at the end of this the country will realize that the Gaetz crowd is not good for the country and we will finished with them.
The long and short of it is that we have a process and it’s being followed. Its kind of ugly...but the country is not falling apart.
Their personal lives are trainwrecks and they point at others??
Isn’t Sean Hannity datin the blonde bimbo?
I thought the “Carnival of Idiots” were the mental midgets of Fox & Friends.
If Jordan gets the votes, time will tell us what concessions he promised to the holdouts to win over their votes.
“Hakeem”
Nonsense
“Isn’t Sean Hannity datin the blonde bimbo?”
Either that, or they’re already married. If you combine the I.Q.s of Sean Hannity and Ainsley Earnhardt the sum would be in the double digits.
“If Democrats cared about the USA, they would vote to keep McCarthy.”
STOP. First, no one has argued that they do, and second, never has a majority relied on a single vote from the minority party to elect a speaker which its own caucus chose. Should Republicans have voted for Steny Hoyer if Pelosi were removed by a motion to vacate and they went on to nominate Hoyer...except that the “progressives” withheld their support and they needed GOP votes?
He’s a maniacal RINO, though.
I thought the “Carnival of Idiots” were the mental midgets of Fox & Friends.
~~~
Is the murdock family upset they aren’t getting a RINO in charge, mayhaps?
Why not?
If Republicans cannot select their speaker, Hakeem Jeffries is the next in line.
If they cannot select speaker forever, and there will be vacancy until next election, Hakeem will be speaker for sure.
They are really making joke out of the Rep. party.
McCarthy made a solemn promise and lied, immediately breaking his promises.
Gaetz called him on it. Why is Gaetz the bad guy?
Or, do you want more years of failed leadership and kicking the can down the road?
Jordan may not be perfect, but I think he’ll be better than McCarthy and can’t be worse.
If Democrats cared about the USA, they would vote to keep McCarthy.
...and you reached this conclusion through what process?
‘If you combine the I.Q.s of Sean Hannity and Ainsley Earnhardt the sum would be in the double digits.’
since the above is a physical impossibiity, your sarcasm is misplaced...use something that can’t be refuted so easily next time you want to be snarky...
Calling the house republicans a “carnival of idiots” may be a bit over the top but perhaps not by much. The “stupid party” continues to live up to its moniker. With all that’s going on, their inability to coalesce into some sort of usefull force is both laughable and pathetic.
Oh noze - the yappy urbanoid trash @ Fox is still mad about McCarthy.
Maybe they can go lose a few million more viewers, then go broke. Then die.
lol - their kids would be total morons.
As you know, a lot of these establishment Republicans are bought and sold by the defense lobbyists and other big government lobbyists. Their sole concern is reelection, not keeping the U.S. from being enmeshed in every war taking place anywhere in the world. If Jordan is against the Lindsay Graham/John McCain constant war syndrome, they will oppose him.
