who said anything about ‘take one for the team?’
if you’re taking one for the team, as you say, you’ve already failed to control the situation, arrest the threat, and restore order. if you don’t have the ability to do that, without getting hurt yourself, as with that poor teacher, you shouldn’t be in the situation in the first place.
I sincerely believe that you have misunderstood me.
You initially proposed that, when the issue with the confiscated electronic toy arose, the female teacher should have requested help from her male colleagues - or maybe you meant that the school administration should simply delegate, as a matter of general policy, the task of restoring order, enforcing rules, or dealing with violent pupils to the male teachers (your posting was a little vague on that point).
But regardless as to whether you were referring to simply this one, specific incident or to a general policy according to which male teachers should always have to be the ones to intercede and deal with big, burly, surly male students - I disagree!
I therefore repeat: Why should any male teacher impacted by "reverse discrimination" or "DEI" voluntarily choose to "white-knight" an underpowered female teacher in distress?
*I suppose that there is a third possibility: That you meant that the school should hire a special category of security people - "Sergeants-at-Arms," if you will - whose sole duty is to maintain order. But then I submit to you that overarching leftist narratives would force the school to hire both big, burly men "who played contact sports" AND petite or overweight women. And then the female orderlies would constantly expect the male ones to intercede when it got dangerous.
Regards,
How would you suggest someone control a kid this size with no impulse control? Do our teachers all have to be Roadhouse bouncers, in addition to being able to teach Calculus or AP Lit? Do you know a lot of people who fit this description? Academic skills, young and fit, Delta Force training, patience of Job...?
