Having an argument with the wife, she doesn't want to spend the extra money. Anywhere from $1,000 on up.
I’ve run 6” steel plate at 25 yrds with my Browning A5... I could take the shot with confidence.
Especially since the divorce has been final for almost two years now...
Bingo it’s why cars come with spare tires.
I was absolutely SHOCKED yesterday when my 90 yo mom, who is generally terrified of guns, asked me to show her how to use one of our shotguns. After what happened in Israel, knowing the border is wide open, plus we have ‘questionable’ neighbors whose property adjoins our property (not immediately next door/within sight - we are somewhat rural), she is feeling threatened enough to want to be able to defend herself.
It depends. But if your shooter is not well trained, a shotgun will clear a hallway pretty quickly.
If they are coming up your driveway, an AR15 is good in well trained hands.
You might if you were Bill Clinton.
From my experience, they don't need to see it. Hearing it rack suffices...
the ar for a generous target field, the shotgun for the nitty gritty
i have practiced that shot with a shot gun...
i would take the shot.
Ok
AR in your arms and a KSG slung in a pouch on your back. .45 in a shoulder holster and a tack vest full of mags.
Or a DP-12. In an invasion scenario I’d want a belt fed weapon.
I really like my Sig M400. Seems to me it hits harder than the M-16 I was issued in the USMC back in the 80’s, not sure why, must be the modern loads. But yes, it will definitely go through the perp and also the house or apartment walls, unless they are made of concrete. A 7.62 x 39 (minimum 18.5” barrel length) is good for reaching out a little bit farther than an AR, hence, inside, that would probably go through the perp (if it does not contact bone and tumble inside) and the walls as well. A nice large caliber handgun (40 or 45) with hollow points is my “go to” for home defense. Wife has a 9mm (with hollow points) as well.
The ultimate answer right there. Some kind of AR(I prefer an AK) and a Mossberg 590A1.
👍😄👍lol
308 ?
There you go. The U.S. Rifle, Caliber 7.62mm, M14. Beautiful weapon system.
Do you expect your wife to use it? Some 15s are lighter than others. Also the sight/scope should be easy to use.
At about 35 yards, I shot 12ga 00 buckshot at 18ga steel and it just dented it and bounced off like BB’s. Winchester MilSpec. Not sure if that was good or not so good. Used Winchester Defender 1300 with 18.5” barrel and also tried it with an 870 with a 10” barrel.
My wife is a little different than your wife. After one of these terrorist incidents eight years ago she asked me, “do we have any rifle I can shoot that will fire over and over just as fast as I can pull the trigger?” I said no, my dear but that will be corrected this afternoon.
