A group of masked thieves in California pushed past a security guard and stole $50,000 worth of merchandise from a Gucci store last week, police said Tuesday.
Reserve officers with the San Jose Police Department were working a second job at the Valley Fair Mall on Oct. 5, when they responded to an organized retail theft at the luxury retail store, authorities said.
The group of thieves overpowered a security guard standing by the front door and stole purses and other items before fleeing, police said.
The heist took less than a minute, according to store security footage.

This is becoming an every day occurrence in So Cal- and why not? It is perfectly legal to steal up to $950/day in merchandise and nothing will happen to you.
“Our” criminal-loving DA, George Gascon, does not believe in punishing criminals and no cash bail is now the law of the land.
Even if these shoplifters are caught, the cops say they’re back on the street before they’re finished filling out the paper work. They won’t even get a tap on the wrist.
A number of people have told me they’ll never set foot in a mall again after these smash and grabs, they’ll take all of their shopping online.
In Kansas the guard would let them in so’s they couldnt escape, then HE WOULD KILL EVERY ONE OF THEM WITH HIS DEADLY WEAPON.

The guard gave it a half effort and then moved out of the way. How about a system that can slam the door and lock it while the crooks are inside the store?
