This is a vanity.
My male short haired domestic is cheating out.
He will be 18 in December.

He’s old. He may hang on though. So hard when you outlive your pets.
I would like to ping some FReepers who knew him, but they’re all gone.

Sounds like a good friend.
Do you have his service history— what’s remaining on his 9 lives?
Ours have made it out to 22-23 years, strictly indoors, ex was a vet. Last few years are a bit painful.
I’m sorry. It’s so hard to lose a pet who has been with you so long.
Prayers for your big guy. It’s hard to lose them.
Daisy Cat sends her regards and purrayers for living out his nine lives.
She’s only seven, but wise for her age.
Such a price we pay for loving our pets.
Would enjoy seeing some Tiger pics.
Thoughts and prayers sent your way from here.
Thank you so much.
Can’t ping everyone, but thanks.

Don’t know how to post them.
They’re on my phone and Jonna’s. Android.

Prayers for both of you. I know how hard it is to lose a furry friend. We’ve had 12 cats over the last 43 years, and we’re down to just #12 now. We adopted a 5-year old Calico from Best Friends Animal Sanctuary and she’s the love of our life right now. We’ve had as many as six at one time and it’s so hard when one-by-one they start leaving. While we’ve had two live to 20 and 24, most go at 18. They’ve all suffered from various aliments including kidney failure, blindness from high blood pressure, various cancers, and one from being murdered by a scumbag pickup truck driver—it was no accident.
Focus on all the good times you’ve had with Tiger. Those moments will see you through the rough times ahead.
Currently, I have a Siamese mix that I named Calvin (after President Coolidge, for his blue eyes). He adopted me, apparently after his original owner kicked him out of their home.
Thank you.
Our remaining feline is a calico. She is 16. Female of course.

Our calica is a female named lady.

Dr. Oakley, Yukon Vet has many tips for older felines and their owners. Good show.
Prayers for you friend. I had to put my best friend down yesterday. 21 year old Siamese male with darling blue eyes. We called him Sinatra. For two weeks he couldn’t keep food down and was losing weight. We thought he was a goner and the trip to the vet would only traumatize him. Finally reason took over and I took him to see if anything could be done. All blood work and x-rays were done. Nope nothing could help him, I was told euthanasia was a kind option. I said I couldn’t do that, he was a family member. After a while I called the vet back in the room and asked about how it would be done. She said he would be sedated and just go to sleep. Then he’d get the needle but never feel it. When he was returned to me, there he was curled up in his natural sleep position, peaceful as could be. I buried him up on the hill overlooking our house. He has a cross marker that I can look at. I promised him I’d never forget him and I won’t. I’m still mourning.
