Here is the text of the "Directive." There is one word I couldn't read which I marked "[illegible]."

NOTICE OF OFFICIAL DIRECTIVE TO SURRENDER PROPERTY
October 1, 2023
Dear Owner of ______________ in the City/Village/Town of [Riverside]
The purpose of this letter is to inform you that, per the 2023 Homeless Housing Directive [illegible] the State of Illinois Governor’s office, the ownership of your house has been taken over by the State of Illinois. At the beginning of every fiscal year, we randomly select four houses within the state for property takeover in order to house homeless immigrant or refugee families. Your house is one of four properties that we have taken over for free.
At this time, you are hereby ordered to give away your house to us, the State of Illinois and have 14 days to move out (until _____________ at ________ AM/PM). Refusal to obey this directive or continuing to remain on this property after the specified date/time is a misdemeanor violation of 720 ILCS 5/19-4 (a) 1 - Trespassing, and if you do not comply with this directive, you will be arrested as the above-specified address is now state property. The Illinois State Police will arrive at the time stated above to enforce this directive and inspect the property. We apologize for the financial inconvenience this may cause to you and other household members, but we appreciate your understanding and look forward to your cooperation.

Apologizing for the "financial inconvenience" and signing off "Respectfully" are nice touches!

How anyone can read that "directive" and take it seriously is beyond me. If I were to receive one of those I would burst out laughing and toss it in the trash. I don't care how authoritarian some of our marxist governors are, not one of them would be arrogant enough to try something like this!
