According to John, the antichrist appeared on the scene in his day and has been present ever since. There is no antichrist mentioned in Revelation.
If the antichrist were to appear as people think, do these people think that the Muslims, Hindus, etc., will suddenly give up their religion for another one?

This Futuristic theory of the Anti-Christ propagated by Dr. Scofield is the Popish view. According to Matthew Henry the generality of Christians had been informed of the coming of the Antichrist. Paul’s 2nd Epistle to the Thessalonians Ch. 2:8-10 made it clear to them. He is called the Antichrist as though there were none but he, because he was so eminently above all others. He is, therefore, called "the man of sin" and "the son of perdition" and the system of which he is the head "the mystery of iniquity."

why do people keep wanting to speed things up. Jesus clearly said all that stuff happens and the end is still to come.
It’s not right around the corner, if anything it’s the beginning of birth pains. If a day is a thousand years and a thousand years like a day, we have a couple hundred years to go or more, since most babies take some (1-10s?) hours of birth pains and labor.
But feel free to keep whipping up the fear of others.

In my time, I have heard Lindzey, and several well-known tv preachers use that timeframe.
