Sure, Coke is easier to get but diluted Phosphoric Acid (which is the Coke ingredient doing the rust removal) is cheaper and cleaner.
I used it to remove the oxidized paint, from my metallic green 1955 Plymouth Belvedere. It was a lot quicker than using car polish.
