I think it looks real. My overwhelming thought was that the flash grenades and tear gas must have been a deliberate attempt to incite and upset the veterans in the crowd.
Those lousy capital police should have all been reassigned to guarding dumps from bears.
If I was in Congress today, I wouldn’t trust them a bit.

If memory serves, the flash-bangs and tear gas were a distraction so that the CP could fire rubber bullets at the heads and exposed faces of the crowd.
In the video, the injured had rubber bullets embedded in their faces.
