Giving away $500 million and actually have it not wasted, not contribute to some evil and actually have it used for good is a very difficult thing to do.
Iguess it all goes to Jerry Hall.
Too many idle rich anyway, living on the hard work of others with no appreciation of what it takes to earn that kind of wealth.
Doesn’t mean the kids are getting nothing.
Just wait till Biden’s done. $500M will be nothing.
Mick Jaggar: The children don’t need $500 million to live well.
I notice that Mick Jaggar isn’t giving any of it away now...
I guess he’s planning to take it with him ...
... or maybe just not going ...
$500 million over a 60 yr career?
Sounds a little lite there Mick.
Probably the biggest favor he could do for them.
Headline is garbage. He has no interest in selling the back catalog, and that half-a-billion is speculative, they haven’t been offered that. Bowie only got 250M for his back catalog and he had far more UK Top 40s than the Stones, albeit in the US the Stones had 8 No. 1s to Bowie’s 2. Mick would rather have the pre-71 catalog in his possession, much like Macca finally got the Beatles catalog back from Sony/ATV in 2017.
They want it but you can’t always get what you want.
So who does if not your own?
he should give 10 million to each child and then the remaining 420 million to 420 deserving people.
I would have people write letters nominating deserving amazing people who need to be rewarded. He could change 420 GOOD peoples lives forever. But instead will probably form some crappy charity that will waste is all funding liberal causes
I think he felt they didn’t need their dad either
His PERSONAL fortune will go to his kids, as will Keith’s.
But rights to the song catalog, the most valuable in the world, are up for grabs. That’s all FUTURE revenue.
They’ve been on the road for 60 years, and for the last 25 they’ve been getting from $1-$3.5 million per show. These guys are filthy rich without the song catalog.
And that catalog has over 300 songs in it. Wow. It’s probably worth more than $500 mil.
Handing 500 million to someone who doesn’t know how to earn it or manage it will crush him. A lot of people like to fantasize about winning the lottery. I do too at first but then I start thinking about everything I would have to do to handle a massive windfall and even the fantasy becomes stressful.
I want my money back from buying the “Goat’s Head Soup” album.
I wonder if Mick has ever taken a fam photo....with all 8 of his children, together.
Songs?
Nope...will take Jerome Kern and Rodgers and Hart over the shouting.
