Yesterday, Maria Bartiromo was very visibly entrenched in her effort to defend House Speaker Kevin McCarthy from the criticism of Representative Matt Gaetz. During the combative interview, Ms. Bartiromo showed a transparent agenda to support the professionally Republican GOPe perspective.

Today, following a considerable amount of backlash, and eyes-wide-open to the motives and intents of Bartiromo, she attempts cleanup by repeating the phrase, “democracy is messy” as a justification for her support of McCarthy Inc.

I want McCarthy gone too, but Maria has been very good for republicans. She might not be the favorite for some, but in my book, she's unassailable.

No, we ARE a democracy. Democracy comes in many forms. Our FORM of democracy is a republic. Our representatives are democratically elected by we the people to, in theory, represent our ideas and values. We are NOT a direct democracy and thank God for that.

Oh, wow! That was the best back and forth I have seen in years. Kudos to both Bartiromo and Gaetz. Fantastic articulation of the two sides. Passionate, brilliantly articulated, informative.

Matt Gaetz is far, far better at this than a year or two ago. Kudos to him. Maria Bartiromo ... has always been fantastic.

Every time Gaetz speaks up about what is going on in DC there are those here who disparage him. Please, knock it off. You can't decry the uniparty and then go after one of the few people who is working to expose and destroy it.
