If they just non-chalantly loaded it up as if they just bought it or pushed it around the corner to an alley and then loaded it probably no one would notice. I can’t believe this doesn’t happen more often. Usually it’s chained up but Lowes and Home Depot leave a lot of $$ of merchandise sitting out there.
When I was a teenager, my barber told me a story about seeing two guys loading a riding lawn mower into a truck at his across the street neighbor. He yelled over to them something like “Hey watcha doin’”, and they replied that the guy (using his correct first name), had said it was ok for them to use the mower while he was on vacation.
He thought nothing of it, and went on to open his shop.
Later when the police interviewed him about the theft, he told me, that since he had received a logical answer to his question, that he didn’t even remember the color of the truck.
Wouldn’t be too hard to go inside and steal a bolt cutter or a chain breaker...
When you have no morality and don’t have to worry about the cops due to BLM/Defund the Police and no bail DAs, anything is possible.
