Neolithic farmers had brown skin. They originated in Anatolia, spread across the Mediterranean to Iberia, and then up to Britain. They were the people who built Stonehenge. They were later replaced by the Bell Beaker people from northern Europe.
Earlier hunter gatherer populations had darker skin.
