U.S. officials have admitted that Russia is producing more missiles now than it was before the conflict began.

More than an unimpressive quantity is still not a very impressive quantity.

If Ukraine ever gets more than a trickle of F-16's and ATG missiles to go with them (the US has massive numbers of both, which is why Russian leaders froth about F-16's), Russia has a VERY acute problem.

Fun facts: The US has almost as many F-16's as Russia has planes of any type in it's entire air force. Overall, NATO has about 4 times as many military aircraft as Russia.

NATO's problem is a bureaucracy that is about the size and speed of a major glacier.

Producing more and having what they need are two different things.

If I had 24 cans of beans and was getting 2 a month but now I have none in the cupboard but am buying 4 a month……

But I am sure this is exactly what Putin planed

19 Sep: Nice. Ukrainians WIPE OUT Main Russian Base in Surprise JDAM Strike | Ukraine War Update

The war in Ukraine is raging on the eastern front lines.
After Kiev’s offensive plans targeted Crimea and Russian settlements, the war shifted back towards Donbass and Zaporizhia, leading to an increase in trench clashes.
Of course, there was also military activity in the Kherson direction. But today the clashes were most intense on the critical Donetsk-Zaporizhia front line.

The busiest front lines in Donetsk are still the southern flanks of the city of Bakhmut. After liberating Andriivka, the Armed Forces of Ukraine also held the initiative in Klischiivka, so they continued to advance freely in these areas. Even south of Andriivka, in Kurdiumivka, Ukrainian troops’ offensive operations and additional military build-ups attracted attention. But today’s most notable offensive took place south of Kurdiumivka, exactly southwest of the Bakhmut settlement.

In this area is the settlement of Svitlodarsk. The Ukrainians had last destroyed a Russian-controlled UAV base in the village of Luhanske, south of this settlement. A few days after this attack, today, the Ukrainians again focused on the Svitlodarsk-Luhanske directions. The Ukrainian Defense Forces struck Russian army positions in occupied Svitlodarsk, 20 km southeast of Bakhmut, with two JDAM bombs.

Footage of the attack, captured by drone, was first published by the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Kremlin propaganda lies that the strike supposedly hit a civilian target.

However, this is not true.

A Russian occupier recorded this striking moment from the area. According to him, he and his comrades-in-arms were in the building that was attacked. He himself complained that they had lost their vehicle there. The Russian soldier in the video said, “How could we not be buried there? The cars were smashed. Also in the background of the video you can hear these shouts. Are there 200s? Are there 300s?
These terms are military terminology for dead and wounded military personnel.

So these images and video recordings are proof that a large number of Russian soldiers were liquidated in the Ukrainian JDAM attacks. Following the Ukrainian attack on Svitlodarsk with special weapons and bombs, Russia continued to post pictures of the situation in the region. Kremlin officials reported that security measures had been taken in the city and warned that these attacks would continue.

Indeed, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have been continuing storm attacks both in Donetsk and Zaporizhia. Following the offensive operation in Donetsk, this week the Ukrainians continued to move towards the Zaporizhia trench lines.
The latest battle analysis revealed that Ukraine has focused on a 2.6-kilometer or 1.6-mile-long section of Russia’s multi-layered defensive lines around Robotyne, where it is still clearing Russians from these critical lines.

Earlier this month, the Ukrainian military reported that its forces had broken through the first and second defense lines around Robotyne, south of the Ukrainian-held city of Orikhiv in Zaporizhzhia. However, Russian troops are still believed to be holding out for a second chance, albeit in small groups. The fact that the Ukrainian Armed Forces are outnumbered in the region will not turn this situation into a risk factor for Kiev. Kiev officials claimed that there will be no trace of Russian troops in the region within a few days.

On the other hand, the Ukrainian General Staff announced that its troops continue to attack Russian positions towards Melitopol, causing significant losses in manpower and equipment of the occupation troops and forcing the enemy to withdraw from the occupied positions. Russian concern here is actually quite obvious. The Kremlin is worried about Ukrainian forces advancing on Melitopol after the town of Tokmak. That is why the Russians are maintaining military preparations in Tokmak.

According to the UK Ministry of Defense, Russian forces in southern Ukraine are strengthening their defenses around the cornerstone town of Tokmak in Zaporizhzhia, possibly due to growing concern over Kiev’s pressure on Russian lines in the annexed region.

If Ukraine “hunts down” Russian propagandists worldwide, its fair game, in Ukraine. Its war, and everything and anyone that aids their enemy is a legitimate target, within the context of the war. The question is whether Ukraine can get at them, legally.

In Ukraine its a slam dunk case. A nation at war has vast, overriding powers to conduct a war. It does not have to tolerate pro-enemy actors.

Ukraine can also ignore Russian laws. As Ukraine is at war with Russia, Russian laws are irrelevant, so propagandists in Russia are also legal game (not to Russia of course, but certainly to third parties).

Elsewhere there isn’t much Ukraine can do about it, as a matter of law, as its not just Ukrainian law they would be dealing with, and as the rest of the world is not at war with Russia. Most of what Ukraine would probably like to do to attack Russian propagandists in neutral countries would be illegal outside of Ukraine (or Russia).

Its very much like the case of Israels Mossad. The Mossad was acting illegally in all its actions against anti-Israel groups outside Israel (or countries it was technically at war with, like Lebanon and Syria). But they did a great deal of this anyway. Much of this was tacitly permitted by various countries, as these persons were inconvenient to these third parties as well. This all was extremely “grey”, no matter how you slice it.

This is further complicated by the nationality of the persons targeted. If the targeted persons were Ukrainian or Russian it would be easier to turn a blind eye to all this. The Mossad, as far as I know, did not target anti-Israel foreigners (of those countries Israel was not at war with).

Like I said, this is all very “grey”. Some research into the foreign activities of the Mossad may be helpful as to what Ukraine may be able to get away with.

Russia is not only producing the prolific amount of ammo it needs, it is producing more than all the NATO countries combined. Even the NYT admits it.

This proxy war has been a misconceived failure from the start.

Unimpressive quantity? You're nuts. Russia has been using seven times as much ammo as Ukraine. Even the NYT admits that Russia is manufacturing more ammo than all the NATO countries combined.

You can't face reality -- Ukraine has no chance whatsoever of gaining an inch of territory back.

This proxy war has been a abysmal failure from the start. And, we're sick of wasting money on it.

I agree with you it is a misconceived failure, your perspective amuses me.

Production based on what, what the Russian MOD states, like 400 Ukrainian planes shot down

A country producing what you claim, does not run to China, Iranians North Korea for help and is rapidly clearing out its attic of soviet legacy weapons

Hopefully they can ramp up submarine and landing ship production and I am sure the waves of T-14s are soon to appear

Just my observation, I don’t see what you see, if you are correct then it t will prove itself on the battlefield

I agree with a lot of what you have said. However, I found the figure of 400 Ukrainian planes a bit surprising. I have never had the impression that Ukraine had even close to that number, much less had that many shot down. So is that figure probably based on Russian lying. Or are they including civlian aviation like crop dusters and other small airplanes that might happen to NOT be military craft?

"the Russian MOD states, like 400 Ukrainian planes shot down"

The Russian MOD has stated Russia has official destroyed over twice what the AFU has. If that were the case, or if as MacGregor has said the Ukrainian army has been completely wiped out and rebuilt three times, Russia would have been at the Polish border before June of last year.

As bad as the US press lies, it pays to keep in mind it is not only the US press that lies. The Russian government's and state media's are bigger liars that the US press is.

I realize trolls job is to sew discourse, and appeal to those who want to believe this stuff. Are Ukrainian number 100% accurate, not likely, but I would say a lot closer than reported Russian and Ukrainian loses by these types and Russian MOD.

The numbers as you stated by then and types like Macgregor are easily proven false, but like the “big lie” tactic they keep repeating

I do wonder how many in russia actually believe these numbers

Again as you stated if these numbers were accurate there would be no one and nothing for the Ukrainians to fight with and russia would control all of Ukraine

The projection by the likes of R, trolls and Putin are stunning, age old tactic accuse your opponents of doing what you are, in fact, doing

The numbers are utter fabrication, like most that comes out of Russia

Since are drones and missiles were shot down, then I guess we are to believe that the sub and ship were smoking accidents coincidentally happening the same time as the attack

Reminds me of WW2 German reported allied aircraft losses. I assume these numbers are produced for internal consumption, but even with that the numbers are so over the top as to make me wonder just how many in Russia buy them

The trolls report them, that is their jobs, intent is to sew discord and confusion.

Since I imagine Russians don’t get much information in what is actually going on I could see the majority of them believing it. The question is if/when that narrative is so out of wack with reality will, at that point, cause changes in Russia. Hard to say Russian military budget is close to if not exceeded by “internal security” budget

Time will tell
