I’m 575 miles from home - I’m afraid that I’ll have to take the highways if I want to make the trip in 1 day. The 2 big obstacles I drive through are Columbus (mini-Atlanta) and Cincinnati (also a traffic disaster), but once those are behind me, it’s pretty smooth sailing until the big hill where 75 enters Tennessee. Too many trucks, not enough lanes. And they go really SLOW up that long climb.
But that’s next week’s problem. Today, I enjoy the present.
Stay safe! I think it’s bad if I have to go through Chattanooga or Knoxville. I don’t travel. I haven’t even been out of the state in 30 years.
Columbus isn’t that bad when I have to drive through there, even at rush hour. Maybe that is because I can usually avoid 80 west out of Phenix City. I drove through Chattanooga and Knoxville back in July. The trip up there wasn’t bad because it was on a Sunday. The trip back during the week was another matter. Even Atlanta traffic was better.
