Close to 50% is not enough? Less than 6% decides the vote and it does not matter if it is illegal or not. It decides. Maybe not half in your area but half across the nation are people who willingly and happily cancel your vote. That is not enough for you to blame them? It sure is for me.

"The other thing missing in this thread is Biden came up w this plan."

Biden's handlers came up with this plan. He's not cognizant enough to correctly parrot the words, nevermind come up with the ideas behind them.

They are the people who need to be held accountable.

Every one of those idiots can do an income verification with FAFSA and get their payments reduced without having their amounts owed increased.

No crying for those idiots.

"Simple solution: Transfer the loans back to the educational institutions where they originated."

A "Simpler solution"; after President Trump is elected again, have the government process the applications, real sloooowww. And never approve any of them.

Yes, people have misfortunes sometimes but they all didn’t have a misfortune. When that state cut off their driver’s license or nurse’s license and all of a sudden 98% of them started paying again - that tells me a lot!

My suggested change to the bankruptcy law wasn’t about helping the deadbeats Biden is trying to reward. It was about helping people with student loans who have suffered a genuine misfortune. In many cases that may be medical in nature. In other cases it may be that the skills they learned in school are not in economic demand for a prolonged period of time. The idea of helping the truly unfortunate discharge their debts in bankruptcy is to avoid helping everyone else who doesn’t really need the help.

Quite correct, in a constitutional republic. But the educational institutions have played a key role in undermining the form of government we used to have. So it is appropriate to bite them for it.
