The advantage of that is that if you store it and get to the point of using it for survival, it would provide a great source of energy when regular sugar is no longer available.
Good point I didn’t think of that. I was thinking more of bartering. Not necessarily with candied lemon peel but I have some Snickers I have put in mylar. Actually some are in a jar with an oxygen absorber. Due to the sake of science, I do sample them every 6 months. So far at about 3 years they are as good as new.
