Florida Governor Ron DeSantis recently became the subject of an online memefest after a photo of him wearing white Go-Go Boots went viral on social media.
Reports suggest the photo was taken on October 5, 2022 when DeSantis visited Fort Myers to survey the damage caused by Hurricane Ian. In the image, the politician can be seen wearing jeans, a blue sleeveless jacket and a blue shirt with the now-infamous white boots.
As DeSantis’ picture surfaced online, several people pointed out the resemblance between his footwear and Nancy Sinatra’s iconic white Go-Go Boots. One Twitter user even jokingly said, "Nancy Sinatra called. She wants her boots back."

I have never seen white boots work by workers in messy places. Most are black, brown or green. White?
I think this is much about nothing, though.
The only alpha male that would wear white rubber boots is someone working in a processing plant cutting the heads from chickens or other poultry.
White leather boots are for women.
Brown or black for men. Or the ever popular camouflage!!

I don’t know where you live, and I haven’t seen them in my part of Maryland; but people in places like Florida, Louisiana, etc., say they’re very common.

I saw him on TV yesterday. He looked much slimmer, noted by me because of previous comments from detractors.

Rubber boots are always appropriate in water. But white??? Have never seen that, except for women’s wear.
In Louisiana those are known as Dulac Reeboks.

Those kinds of white boots are commonly seen around the Gulf Coast.
It is the optics. No one else uses white rubber boots on land and you can be sure he was not placed in any dangerous places.
And the governor of Florida does not handle hurricanes. There is a vast infrastructure set up for that that has been tweaked for many decades. All the governor does is sign the documents that have been established to address all the myriad loose ends.
You should maybe check the contents of your breakfast cereal.
