Well Pete……you’re correct and I agree. That’s weird, eh?
Good post.
I’ll add this just to help…….
Jet fuel burns hotter and long than diesel or gasoline.
It can easily reach temps high enough to melt or catch metal parts on fire.
Many people are unaware that metal can burn, just like wood but it takes very high temps for that to happen…..enter jet fuel.
What is a plane made of, for the most part? Aluminum……aluminum will ignite with much lower temps than steal.
The steal beams probably didn’t catch fire, but there was enough jet fuel, and other forms of fuel (aluminum, office contents, etc.) to keep the fire burning and hot to melt and weaken the support beams.
The explosion on the other side of the buildings hit was the jet fuel lines that ruptured and ignited.
If you ever used gasoline to start a bonfire, (bad idea) you’ll see a POOF! when the gas is lit.
Now imagine a larger scale and more powerful fuel. Plenty to blow out windows and walls on the other side.
Actually no jet fuel does not burn hot enough to melt steel but termite does.
No, not weird really. Conspiracy for the sake of conspiracy? No, Not into it. Since we pretty much agree on the facts we come to similar conclusions.
Planes videotaped flying smashing into buildings, aluminum will ignite or melt, or shatter. No question about a fuel air explosion. Heat & time results in plastic deformation of steel trusses, the eventual strain on the exterior wall connections reaches a point of brash failure (of the joints on the exterior skeleton) they collapse inward. (As seen on the video.) Active loading, the floors begin to pancake.
(**Detonation wire will also burn and melt and that makes it impossible for the alleged detonation collapse of building 7 as a result of explosive charges since the wires channeling the charge would have been destroyed in the preceding 6 hours of fire.)
People bring different skills and experiences to FR. I do not want conflict with Georgia Girl 2, but I have taken Metal shop and had Avionics training in the service and try to remember that she has not when we post (And not ridicule her for that.) We probably agree on a lot of other things. I think that you have been around fires and firefighters a lot.
G K Chesterton once said something about “10 explanations fill the universe”, the idea is that you can create explanations that can hold together, but they fail the test when it comes to conforming to reality. (Time to sharpen Ockhams razor!)
