Property taxes and income taxes.
Both are theft.
As wretched as income taxes are, I think property taxes are worse. At least with income tax, you have income. Property taxes are simply extortion you have to pay the goobermint if you want to keep property you’ve already (sometimes long ago) paid for. Or for those with a mortgage, it’s taxing you on something you don’t even own.
(When I pay my tax bills, I write “extortion” or “taxation is theft” on the memo line. I’m sure no one reads it and it doesn’t accomplish anything, but at least it’s a small protest.)
