In 1968, when Captain Taylor was driving his Cobra guns up the noses of a bunch of congs to save his guys, Bidum was milking his student deferment to the max to keep hisself from actually doing anything productive. As soon as he got out of school he ran for office to keep the string going. He was elected Senator of Dupont in 1972 just in time to vote for ending the draft in 1973. And “his” ‘67 ‘Vette wasn’t his yet, it being a gift to Dr. Jill from her first husband. The guy has never worked a day in his life, including his brain, and the lack of any activity more strenuous than beach lounging, shows in his current decrepit condition.
Walking away from Captain Taylor was about as low class as anything else Walter has done.
FWIW, one of the best BS sales victories of the commies was that “Duck and Cover” was an absurdity.
Depending on distance, there is a significant and useable matter of seconds from the flash of a nuclear detonation and the blast/shock wave that blows out windows and propels objects about. “Ducking and Covering” greatly reduces the number of injured produced by flying debris, particularly glass. This was actually demonstrated in Japan by a Hiroshima survivor conveying this to people, mainly fellow employees, when he went to resume work at a facility in Nagasaki.
