The villain in the new James Bond novel wants to replace "King Charles the Woke," doesn't like open borders or gay Marxism, and doesn't do diversity hires 😂

This new villain sounds BASED.

Birkett was an ex-Tory MP, famous for promoting covid/vaccines/mask-wearing/5G conspiracy theories, which had spilled over into the usual anti-immigrant, anti-EU, anti-BBC, anti-MSM, anti-cultural Marxist, Climate Change Denial pronouncements. It was an anti-trans diatribe that had eventually got him kicked out of the party and he'd soon after set up the 'New Freedom Party'.

OH NO! THE BOND SUPERVILLAIN DOESN'T LIKE OPEN BORDERS, THINKS MARXISM IS BAD, DISLIKES GOVERNMENT PROPAGANDA, WON'T GET THE JAB, AND HATES GLOBALIST ELITES??

Bond was struck by something. It was a long while since he'd been at any kind of function that was almost exclusively full of men. It felt strange. There was not even a pretence at diversity here.

That's right: James Bond - the guy who used to stop commies who wanted nuclear war or mad scientists from poisoning the planet and repopulating it with a master race - now feels uncomfortable in a room full of (presumably white) men.

GASP!

Where are the gay flags? Where are the transgender activists of color? Where are the twerking drag queens? Is there anybody at all in this English gathering named Mohammed? HOW WILL BOND SURVIVE THIS??

In 20 years, we've gone from having M call Bond a misogynist pig:

To Bond becoming a neurodivergent queer ally who loves his globalist pals over at the WEF (which totally doesn't mirror the shadowy organization of elites plotting world domination like Spectre).

Athelstan hadn't been the least bit concerned about ensuring that half of the people he'd hired to carry out his coup should be women, or non-white, or disabled. This was an unapologetically old-school gathering. In Athelstan's world he was king and could do whatever he wanted.

HE DIDN'T HIRE WOMEN OR DISABLED PEOPLE FOR HIS EVIL ORGANIZATION!

Yes, this is for a real book called "On His Majesty's Secret Service" that came out this summer.

It would make Ian Fleming roll in his grave.

Give me the heir of England's founding king over woke Bond any day! The woke create this idiotic straw men out of anyone who doesn't think exactly like them, then imagine them to be the supervillains plotting to destroy the world.

Ah yes, they think, it's the Jesus-following, conservative family man who doesn't believe unlimited illegal immigration from countries that don't share baseline values is the one who will destroy humanity.

What a great idea, they think, to have James Bond fight for a cranky old globalist and his elitist pals. That'll show those freedom-loving extremists who don't like totalitarian control imposed through a lab-created virus from China!

This is why Hollywood can't write good villains anymore. They'd make Darth Vader a church-going, monogamous married man who doesn't believe in the merits of universal healthcare. These people simply have no idea what good and evil even mean anymore!

RIP, Bond!

If Ian Fleming were still alive, he’d take a flamethrower to these degenerates.

The John Gardner and Raymond Benson novels were pretty good, while the Sebastian Faulks and Anthony Horowitz ones were first rate. Avoid Higson’s tripe like a Covid jab.

I read John Gardner's Bond novels many years ago...Many people dislike his books...I thought they were fine...Right now, I am re-reading one of his Bond books...NO DEALS, MR BOND...

I’m not sure any of the post-Fleming novels got made into movies.

They stopped using the Fleming novels as source material long ago.

You Only Live Twice merely used the Japanese setting. On Her Majesty's Secret Service was fairly faithful to the book, but Diamonds Are Forever again merely used the Vegas setting.

The Spy Who Loved Me ditched the novel, only using the title. And that was 46 years ago.

Since then the films merely took the titles and an occasional random idea. For Your Eyes Only (film) and License to Kill (film) both borrowed from Live and Let Die (novel).

I'm a Fleming-only Bond reader.

I did read Colonel Sun (1968) and James Bond: The Authorized Biography (1973), but those were before even John Gardner.

I loved Kingsly Amis’ “Colonel Sun.” He was the first author who tried to capture Ian Fleming’s “voice.” Always wondered why they never made it into a film, as the plot’s pretty good. I’ll always remember John Pearson’s Bond “biography. I read it and his Fleming biography and saw “Live and Let Die” in 1973. It was the first Bond movie I saw on my own when I was 13.

I thought the Bond biography was a stretch. It's been decades since I read it, but I recall MI6 sending Bond on his first mission, to the Casinos in Monte Carlo, when he was only 16 years old?

Pierson tried to establish Bond as being active before WW 2, and had to deal with the age established by Fleming, but it was a stretch.

Indeed, Fleming didn’t want the source material of Spy Who Loved Me made into a movie (other than the title).

I'm a Fleming-only Bond reader.

Have you read THE SPY WHO LOVED ME the novel? It is written from a point of view of a French-Canadian woman...James Bond deals with two thugs who try to kill her...

Yes, I read that.

I also read the two Christopher Wood novelizations. He gives a bit of a back story to Jaws.

I read the first Gardner Bond book, and bought the second (which I never read). After the Gardner book, I stopped buying new Bond novels.

Second Gardner Bond book is FOR SPECIAL SERVICES...

I actually liked the novel...I still remember the plot of the novel...I read that book a long time ago...I borrowed the book from L.A. City Library...

In the novel, Bond works with daughter of Felix Leiter... He has to deal with SPECTRE...

I skipped to the end of the book. I recall reading that Bond was going to sleep with Leiter's daughter, with a wink from Leiter. At least that's the impression I got from the lines I skimmed.

That disgusted me so much, I decided against reading the book. Some 40 years later, I still remember my disgust.

Leiter's daughter...It was cringe worthy...I understand your decision in that case...
