There are two basic problems in the modern world.

1) Humans don’t spend enough time chasing and trying to kill something to eat.

2) Humans don’t spend enough time running from things that want to eat them.

We seem to understand what feeding the bears does to them but we seem to lack in self-awareness of what a world of free excess will do to humans.

True. I believe that there is an inherent need to hunt. If suppressed it will manifest itself in other ways. Could be collecting Beanie Babies, could be in serial killing. A well-fed cat still kills things.
