The problem is that they are fiberglass, and small particles (And of course passing birds) striking them erode the leading edge. I would think that they could fabricate a lightweight replaceable metal bull nose (Maybe ultra lite titanium or scandium aluminum alloy ) on the propeller's leading edge and continue to use them there being no recyclable market for shredded epoxy fiberglass.
(Of course, there is the other question of whether we should be using these overpriced monstrosities at all.)

...there being no recyclable market for shredded epoxy fiberglass. Seems like they could grind them up to add to roadbed like they do tires. Maybe add a syrup-like substance to keep the glass shards out of the air.

Besides all the airborne wear and tear they are just structurally limited. No real endurance limit. They just fail from cycling. If they were made sound enough to have an endurance limit the wind probably wouldn’t move them.

Of course, there is the other question of whether we should be using these overpriced monstrosities at all.Yup. The argument is moot. They are a stoopid idea. Hyper local solar is the only viable "green" energy that deserves lip service.

That was sarcasm about recycling
